We are thrilled to announce that Scarlet Blood, a Vampire Horror Visual Novel, is now available for download! This is the very first release of the game, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.

What is Scarlet Blood?

Scarlet Blood is a Vampire Horror Visual Novel that lets you experience the many centuries of a vampire’s existence. Set in London during the Great Plague, follow the story of a young man whose desperate attempt to save his sick sister plunges him into a dark world of immortality and bloodlust. Turned into a vampire, he is haunted by loss and consumed by a thirst.

Now, under the enigmatic guidance of Lord Darvell, the player must uncover an ancient artefact that holds the secrets to his immortality and the fate of London itself. This is just the beginning - your journey will span centuries and be shaped by the choices you make. As you navigate a world of moral dilemmas, intrigue and supernatural forces, your decisions will alter the course of history. Unravel dark secrets, forge alliances and travel beyond London to distant lands where the mysteries of your existence await.

A Game Inspired by Legends

The game draws inspiration from classic vampire-themed titles such as Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines and the Legacy of Kain series, as well as more modern interpretations like V Rising and Vampyr, combining their atmospheric storytelling and deep world-building with its own unique vision of vampire horror. Scarlet Blood weaves a dark and immersive tale inspired by vampire literature, capturing the essence of both classic and modern supernatural themes. As the story unfolds, expect future updates to introduce prominent figures from history and literature, blending real-world legends with the game’s rich narrative to deepen the lore and expand the world.

Early Development & A Small Team

Scarlet Blood is currently in early development, with some features still being refined. The game uses AI-generated art, music and sound effects to bring the world to life. Not all systems may work as intended. Thank you for your understanding!

We are a small, dedicated team working a couple of hours every week on Scarlet Blood, and the future of the game’s development is uncertain. Our ability to continue to bring this project to life depends on the support and interest of players like you. Your feedback and involvement will play a crucial role in shaping the game.

Alpha 0.0.1: Features & Highlights

Here’s what you can expect in the current version:

• Playable Prologue: Experience the full Prologue to set the stage for the story.
• Quests and Encounters:
  • 11 quests and 3 radiant quests.
  • 3 fixed encounters and random encounters to discover
  • 2 endings (in the Prologue).
• Base Management: A player base that unlocks after “The Empty House” quest. Rooms can be upgraded using resources which can be gained from available quests.
• Interactive World: Read several Newspaper articles about in-game world events, which will give you context about the state of the world.
• Achievements: You can unlock several achievements tied to the Prologue of the game.
• Core Systems: A functional custom User Interface, Extras Menu: Images, Scene and Music Galleries, World Map, Inventory system, Trading and Storage system, Character Statistics and Characters Creation screen, working Day-By-Day system (with the ability to skip a certain number of days), Weather Effects mechanics (Weather does not have any impact on the gameplay… yet!), and Lock Picking mini-game.
• Audio & Visuals: Several pieces of Music and Sound Effects are already implemented, with Background art and Special Illustrations art in place.
• Gameplay Duration: Up to 2 hours of content:
  • The game script contains 36,206 words.

Post-Launch Updates

Since the initial release, we’ve responded to feedback with five updates. These updates have fixed various bugs, errors, missing images and other issues to improve the overall experience. Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback - it makes all the difference!
